What Food Does Your Ragdoll Kitten Need?

Ragdoll cats are the most amazing intelligent animal you will ever have

While you may have specific questions about certain foods or diets for your ragdoll, the fact is that in looking generally at food, there is an awful lot of it out on the market. The fact is, though, that no one brand is going to be able to work for the entirety of your cat's life. If nothing else, there are three different types of cat food that you'll be looking at, which would be the dry, semi-moist and moist food. But, for the moment, when looking at your ragdoll kitten, cat milk and moist food are going to be best while when the cat gets older, they'll need dry food.

So, just for now, let's focus on what exactly you'll need if you have yourself a ragdoll kitten. The best option is going to be cat's milk for the first four or five weeks, due to the fact that cat's milk is meant to give these kittens the nutrients they'll need. This is so important that the mother cat actually sends antibodies through the milk to the kittens so that they will be able to mount defenses.

In fact, the reason why the milk should be the only food for four to five-week-old kittens is because they really will need to gain all the necessary nutrients for growth in this small time frame. They have to be able to digest the food while getting the nutrients, so don't use cow's milk, which would definitely be too heavy for a kitten and might create digestive problems.

When you're finally ready to transition your kitten from wet food up to dry food the best way to do that when you're preparing food is to make sure that you just get the dry food a little moistened with some warm water. As you keep going, just phase out the water and you'll be able to keep your kitten happy and genuinely getting stronger. Also, make sure you give your kitten the right supplements, in the morning and evening.

Now, choosing food for your kitten doesn't really start until they're about a year old, when the adult food starts to become their new diet. Now, whenever you prepare your food, that's the tricky part. With ragdolls, you want to make sure that the food is fresh - never open longer than thirty minutes - and that it's a little warm. You want the food to be warm enough for the cat to find palatable and leaving leftovers for the cat will only grow bacteria which can hurt and possibly poison your cat. In fact, the worst insect for your cat to deal with is the common household fly. You need to make sure that you wash your cat's bowl after meals and change out their water.

Table food might be a nice little treat for your cat, but if you do it too often, you're not going to give your cat the nutrients they need. Make sure you feed your cat the proper cat food and you'll keep your cat happy.

Above all else, a ragdoll cat will be loyal to its master
