Ragdoll Cats: Livin' In Your House

What is a ragdoll cat? These gentle, playful and utterly endearing cats are a bit larger than other cats, but are incredibly sweet and elegant. They're muscular, but seem balanced with a rich coat that stays smooth. It really doesn't mat, so these cats have coats that remain as soft and smooth as a rabbit's. As for appearance, they can come in lilac points, blue points, or have white markings.

Ragdolls are the cat for you if you want a laid-back, fun and loving cat with very distinct personalities. On top of the fact that these cats are incredibly easy to get along with, they also require less grooming than other cats do, because their coat looks absolutely rich and fantastic, and there's really nothing that needs to be done. On top of that, these cats are so easy to get along with, as they're not aggressive and incredibly friendly. These are perfect house cats.

Above all else, a ragdoll cat will be friendly to its master

These cats are pretty heavy and a larger size, so, they're not exactly active felines and they have large hind-quarters and broader chests. They take some time to mature, so they don't reach puberty around three years. When you're looking at the difference in size between males and females, the male felines can weight anywhere from 12 to 20 pounds, while the females can weigh around 10 to 15 pounds.

If you're looking for a cat that looks as sweet and lovable as the personality is, then a ragdoll is definitely for you. With big, blue eyes and rounded ears that tilt forward a little, they have a soft coat and a bushier tail, which just makes them completely adorable. Around their necks and hindquarters, they seem to often have longer fur.

These particular cats are much like the Siamese and the Himalayans where they are originally born white and will develop their color as they continue to grow older, known as pointed cats. As far as what the majority of ragdolls develop as, they normally have three different patterns, and will develop four colors. They can be "mitted", "bicolor", or "colorpoint" in pattern.

What is a colorpoint? Well, colorpoints have very dark points on the ears, feet and tail, while the rest of the body is of a much lighter shade. Instead of having white markings, they may have very pale fur, but for the most part, the darkers points at the extremities set the breed aside.

With a mitted cat, they are also much like the colorpoint with dark points on the fur and a lighter color. Since they have white markings that colorpoints don't right on their paws, which look like mitts or mittens, these cats are said to be mitted. They also happen to have a white stripe that goes along their stomach and a white ruff, which is the longer fur around the neck.

And finally, there is the bicolor ragdoll, which has the dark points ragdolls are known for while also having an inverted V shape between the eye that expands towards the muzzle. The rest of the coloration for the cat happens to create a kind of saddle on the back of the feline, then the rest of it is white.

No matter which coloration you get for your ragdoll, you can be guaranteed that you will love your feline.

Above all else, a ragdoll cat will be loyal to its master
